Quieta 2.2: your PDF stays a PDF

Your PDF stays a PDF

Quieta 2.2 handles PDFs differently: the file that comes out is the same document that went in, minus the personal data.

Layout, images, tables, fonts, page numbers and every piece of text that was not sensitive: all of it is preserved. The text stays selectable and searchable. You can still send the file to a client, a colleague or a court. It is an ordinary PDF, not a degraded copy of one.

Why that was a problem

Until now, removing personal data from a PDF left you with three options, and none of them gave you back a document you could use.

Redaction destroys the information for good. Black boxes protect the document and kill it at the same time: nobody can work on it anymore, not you, not your AI assistant, and there is no way back.

Online services ask you to hand over the whole document first, personal data included. The problem you were trying to avoid is the one you just created.

The workarounds strip the formatting away: export to plain text, copy and paste, take a screenshot. What you are left with is not a document, it is a draft.

Quieta 2.2 adds a fourth option: the document comes out intact and usable, the information is replaced rather than destroyed, and nothing leaves your machine.

Quieta checks its own work

This is the part we are proudest of, and the hardest to get right.

Before handing the file back, Quieta reads it again and checks that no personal data is left in it, including in the parts of the file nobody ever looks at. If something does not come out cleanly the first time, Quieta tries another way rather than leaving it in place.

Most tools tell you they have masked the data. Quieta checks that it has. In a regulated field, that is not a nicety. It is the difference between hoping and knowing.

Reversible

You send the anonymized document to your AI assistant, or to a third party. The work comes back. You give it to Quieta, and you get your original document back, formatting included.

You lose nothing by anonymizing, so it can become a habit rather than a precaution you take once and then quietly drop.

Scans and handwriting

Scans are detected automatically and handled accordingly. For handwriting and low-quality scans, you can add an optional recognition pack that covers more than a hundred languages, handwritten text included.

It downloads once, with your permission, and runs entirely on your own machine. No document is ever sent anywhere.

Life Pro 2, a one-time purchase

We are also launching Life Pro 2: a one-time purchase at €189 instead of €289, no subscription. It gives you every Pro feature, with all version 2 updates included. The €100 launch discount runs until December 31, 2026.

You pay once and the software is yours. For a tool whose whole promise is that your data stays with you, one more subscription felt like the wrong answer.

Where to find it

Quieta 2.2 is out now at quieta.ai. All the plans, Life Pro 2 included, are on the pricing page.
